She is contagious! Her
smile, her personality, and her testimony are all uplifting and speak volumes
for this young woman. Shawn Johnson is a
spitfire of a role model for our young women.
In her book Winning Balance, she discusses what it means to really win
in our modern world. She talks about
what she has learned about faith, her own personal struggles with image, and
temptations that come with a life of fame and glamour.
Shawn Johnson lived a kind of Cinderella dream in winning
the gold under circumstances that were less favorable to do so than many of her
peers. She endured successes and
failures, as well as reaching some dreams and having some dreams just out of
her reach.
I can honestly say that I enjoyed reading and reviewing this
book and I would recommend this to other young women. I say younger, because even though I enjoyed
it, I still felt like her mom reading it.
I know that if she were my daughter I would be very proud of her
character and the shadow that she is casting to other s her age.
